SOTA activations January 2021

The first of these was technically the Mt Foxlow activation on 1st of January, described in the previous post. After this I went to Mt Livingston with Andrew VK1AD on 2nd January and made 19 contacts there, mostly on HF but three on 1296 SSB back into Canberra.

On 7th January I walked up Mt McDonald which is next to the Cotter Dam, Canberra’s primary water supply. 16 contacts of which three were on 144 ssb and three were on 146 FM.

The next day I walked up Mt Taylor and made 19 contacts mostly on HF CW but one with Adam VK2YK/5 on 20m SSB and a couple of local contacts on 2m FM.

no radio pictures but this wallaby was treating me with great suspicion on the way up

A short activation at Mt Stromlo was next. 10 contacts on HF and 2m FM.

After the Stromlo activation we made a road trip to Queensland to visit my daughter and son there.
